WHAT WE BELIEVE

Established

Welcoming All to the Table

Established

Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church was established in 1967, rooted in a commitment to faith, community, and service. Since its founding, the church has served as a welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Guided by a desire to share God’s love, Shepherd of the Valley continues to grow as a cornerstone of faith and connection for all who enter its doors.

We are God's People: created by God's grace, saved and freed by Christ, called and nurtured by the Holy Spirit. We are Christ's Body, established in him, his word in our world. We are thankful people, responding to God in faith and hope, in fellowship and service. Christ calls us to follow him, to reach out to, welcome, and embrace all persons, especially the ill, troubled, and poor, in a commitment of love and care.

Our church practices open communion, which means that everyone is welcome to partake in the sacrament, regardless of church membership or denominational affiliation. We believe that the Lord’s table is a place of grace, inclusion, and fellowship where all are invited to experience the presence of Christ.

By offering open communion, we affirm that God's love and mercy extend to all, and we seek to embody that love through hospitality and welcome.

Whether you are a lifelong believer or exploring your faith, you are invited to join us in this sacred celebration.
